The effort continues to grow for the Emporia State soccer team, but the results remained similar on Sunday. The Hornets lost their eighth straight, falling to Nebraska-Omaha 4-1.
Emporia State (1-11-1, 1-9-0 MIAA) fell behind early, with UNO (10-4-1, 9-1-1 MIAA) scoring a goal 15 minutes into the first period. The Mavericks struck again soon after, and Emporia faced an early 2-0 hole. It has become a familiar position for the Hornets, but one they have desperately sought to improve.
