Less than three days remain to vote in the "8 Wonders of Kansas" contest, which will end Tuesday at midnight.
Emporia's Veterans Day celebration, its auxiliary monuments and history, and its status as the Founding City of Veterans Day qualified it as one of the 24 finalists selected for the vote.
Voters need to choose eight nominees when they cast ballots. More than 9,300 votes have been cast since voting began on Sept. 10. Winners will be announced on Friday.
Voting may be done at www.8wonders.org. Three votes are allowed from each e-mail address.
The 8 Wonders series is sponsored by the Kansas Sampler Foundation in Inman.
