CASEY WILSON, who won a juror merit award for his photograph “Grass Lightning.” The photograph was part of the Visions of the Flint Hills Preserving the Tallgrass Prairie art show at the Buttonwood Art Space in Kansas City. More than a 100 works were featured and the event raised money for the Kansas Park Trust.

• Organizers and participants of the Benefit Poker Run. The event raised money for the Flint Hills Technical College Foundation.

• Brenda Barrows who won the use of a Chevrolet Eqinox for her outstanding achievements as a Mary Kay sales consultant.

• Rep. Peggy Mast and Sen. Jim Barnett who were given the Outstanding Public Official Awards from The Association of Community Mental Health Centers of Kansas.

• Cody Lindquist who was named Army Iron Man of the Week for being the best two-way player in Kansas. As a weekly winner Lindquist is now a finalist for the Army Iron Man of the Year.

• Granada Theatre, which celebrated one year of operation.

• Organizers and participants of Clean Sweep Emporia. More than 1,146,350 pounds of trash was collected.

• Organizers and participants of Emporia Main Street’s fundraising auction. The event raised $9,600 and the money will be used to buy bike racks for downtown Emporia.
