Mowers and blowers

The Emporia Farmers Market, Seventh Avenue and Merchant Street, will start at 8 a.m. Saturday. Representatives from PrairieLand Partners will be at the market to demonstrate how to winterize lawn mowers and other equipment.
Tickets also will be on sale for drawings for a $1,800 John Deere mower and a $220 leaf blower. Proceeds will benefit the Farmers’ Market.
Tickets cost $2 each or three for $5 for the blower and $5 each or five for $20 for the mower. The blower drawing will be at 10 a.m. Saturday; the mower drawing will be held in November.
Proceeds from the blower will benefit the Farmers Market. Proceeds from the mower will go to the market and to Emporia Main Street.
