Lebo, Olpe win two at LCL tourney

Lebo and Olpe each went 2-0 in pool play on the first day of the Lyon County League tournament on Thursday at White Auditorium.
The Wolves defeated Flinthills in two sets, 25-15 and 25-14, then defeated Burlingame 25-19, 25-6. The Eagles started their tournament by beating Hartford 25-16, 25-12, then defeated Waverly in three sets, 29-31, 25-21, 25-17.
Hartford and Madison each went 1-1 on Thursday. After losing to Olpe, the Jags defeated Waverly 25-22, 25-23. Madison took down Marais des Cygnes Valley in its first match, 25-14, 25-18. But the Bulldogs then fell to Southern Coffey County in three sets, 17-25, 25-19, 25-20.
In other scores Thursday, SCC defeated Marais des Cygnes 18-25, 25-20, 25-14, and Burlingame defeated Flinthills 25-20, 23-25, 31-29.
The tournament will continue Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with fresh pool play based on Thursday’s results and then culminating in the consolation and championship matches. To begin the day’s action, Olpe will play Flinthills while SCC plays Waverly. Pool-play matches scheduled to follow on the first available court include:

• Madison vs. Flinthills
• Burlingame vs. Waverly
• Hartford vs. MdCV
• Olpe vs. Madison
• SCC vs. Burlingame
• Lebo vs. Hartford
