After removing an item from the agenda Thursday, Lyon County commissioners had little business for their action session.
Commissioners approved the consent agenda which included:
• Warrants payable in the amount of $118,904.28.
• Payroll payable in the amount of $215,246.95.
• Payroll withholdings payable in the amount of $236,019.03.
• Minutes of the Oct. 8 meeting.
• Approve sending out a request for proposals for aluminized steel type 2 metric sheet piling according to the county engineer’s specifications.
In other business, commissioners discussed the 2010 holiday schedule.
Lyon County Commissioner Teresa Walters commended Russell Torrens and his crew at Lyon County Hazardous Waste for their efforts during Clean Sweep Emporia. The department hauled off 48 pallets of e-waste and another 12 pallets still need to be hauled off. In addition, more than 50 drums of liquid waste that includes hazardous chemicals. Also more than 800 tires were dropped off. The department incurred more than $15,000 in costs.
