Olpe goes 1-1 at Lebo

Olpe’s volleyball team went 1-1 in two matches on Tuesday at Lebo, and the Eagles will be the top seed in the Lyon County League volleyball tournament, which begins today at White Auditorium.

Olpe beat Southern Coffey County in two sets, both by scores of 25-19, then lost to Lebo. The Wolves defeated the Eagles 25-6, 25-14.

Hartford wins two

Hartford’s volleyball team won two LCL games on Tuesday night, defeating Flinthills and Burlingame.

The Jaguars swept Flinthills 28-26 and 25-23, then beat Burlingame in three sets, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17.

Against Flinthills, Kellie Farr led the Jags with 13 kills and also recorded four aces and three stuff blocks. Kristen Williams had 16 assists for Hartford, Samantha Wilkerson had five kills and Bronte Bailey had two. The Jags served at a 92 percent clip, with Emily Kirby, Mikayla Wilson and Williams all at 100 percent. Hartford hit .581 for the match, with Wilkerson posting an .833 percentage and Farr at .500.

Farr added nine more kills in the victory over Burlingame, and Wilkerson had five. Farr also had four stuff blocks. Wilkerson had five digs and a hitting efficiency of .363, and Williams was a perfect 19-for-19 on serves. Mikayla Wilson had four aces.

Too bad the headline couldn't be about Hartford, since they won more matches than Olpe. Way to go Jags!

Maybe if Hartford was the Top Seed in the LCL Tourney they would have gotten the Headline!!
