Smith-Staats
The 58th annual reunion of the Silas Smith and Charles Staats families was held Oct. 4, 2009, at the Presbyterian West Campus. Eighteen family members shared a covered dish dinner.
Lena Hobble Young, 95, of Emporia was the oldest family member in attendance.
Attending from out of state were William Stokes Jr., of Springfield, Mo., and William Stokes Sr., of Ramona, Okla. Others attending from Kansas were Garold and Linda Smith of Berryton; Bob and Joyce Winter of Auburn; and Evelyn Frazier, Clayton and Erlene Hobble, Jason Hobble, Grace Van Sickle, Raymond and Shirley Van Sickle, Becky Wheeler and Ashley and Dick and Miriam Winter, all of Emporia.
The next reunion will be held Oct. 3, 2010, at the same location.
Todd
Thirty-six people attended the Todd family annual reunion and basket dinner held Oct. 4, 2009, at the Gridley Community Center. Hosts were the Dean Wilson family.
Those attending were Wayne, Anita and Summer Krichner and Ellen Iseman of Burlington; Kim, Maggie and Charlotte Holland of Overland Park; Amelia and Ryan Springer of Overbrook; Willard and Linda Collins of Fredonia; Sherry, Joey and Jacob O’Trimble of Perry; Vicki Hoelting of Olpe; Edwin and Ruth McGrew of Centerville; Jonathan Hess, Darrell and Wilma Hess, Jim and Frances Force and John and Retha Sleezer, all of Gridley; Jennifer Wellnitz of Neosho Rapids; Darrell, Janelle, Christina and Susie Wilson, Dick and Carole Wilson and Lisa, Alex and Sharon Mautz, all of Hartford; and Dean and Eula Wilson and Dick and Lucy Wagner of Emporia.
Edwin and Ruth McGrew will be hosts for the Oct. 3, 2010, reunion at the same location.
Grandview
The Grandview Community reunion was held Sept. 13, 2009, at the Saffordville Community Building with 80 people signing the guest book. The reporter said, “We had a beautiful fall day and wonderful visiting with friends. The food was delicious!”

The descendants of Hollister Daharsh and Anna Brooks met for a reunion Sept. 27 at the Presbyterian Annex in Americus.
