An Americus teen is in the hospital following a wreck Friday evening at the intersection of Road 240 and Road K.
At around 6 p.m. Friday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office along with the Emporia Ambulance Service and Life Team Helicopter responded to the two-vehicle accident.
According to a sheriff’s department press release, 18-year old Christena Zumbrum of Americus was traveling west on Road 240 when she was struck by 19-year-old Andrew Walecki.
The sheriff’s report states that Walecki failed to stop for Zumbrum and struck her car in the driver’s side door. Both vehicles were overturned.
