In the face of budget cuts and limited space and resources, the Emporia Public Library is forming a strategic plan to mark the way forward.
Staff and board members have begun preliminary work on a plan to outline opportunities for the library to improve its service to the Emporia public, according to director Sue Blechl.
“Right now, we’re working on identifying challenges and opportunities,” Blechl said. “The staff are working on what we’re calling ‘service assessments,’ looking at what we do, who does it, how much time it takes, how does it impact the community and our patrons and how much does it cost.”
