As a woman who enjoys the outdoors, nothing stops Myrna Taunton from getting outdoors to hunt, fish, play golf, birdwatch and a host of other activities.
Even battling cancer with her fifth cancer treatment recently, Taunton still does not let that keep her inside. She enjoys all the outdoors have to offer and hunting is a big part of that for her.
Taunton grew up hunting with her father.
“We’d go rabbit hunting,” she said. “He taught me to shoot.”
When she met her husband, Phil Taunton, an outdoors writer and avid hunter, being involved with guns and hunting wasn’t strange to her, she said.
“It just came natural,” she said.
Phil and Myrna Taunton share a love for hunting and the sport of shooting. Myrna Taunton likes to shoot — whether she is shooting at sporting clays or harvesting game.
