Emporia High’s golf team finished seventh out of nine teams Monday in its last tournament before it hosts next week’s Regional.
The Spartans shot a 494 at the Manhattan Invitational, led by Amber Mechtley’s 116. Hannah Watkins shot a 120, Makenzie Harder had a 122 and Kelsey Burenheide shot a 136. Emporia was missing Melissa Heinitz, who had another engagement, and Rachael Clopton, who was sick.
Coach Rick Eckert said the Spartans had to deal with some adverse conditions Monday afternoon.
