Four EHS girls post best times at Cowboy Jamboree

Running in the top division at the Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University on Saturday, Emporia High’s cross country team got four two-mile personal bests on the girls side.
The Spartan girls finished 21st as a team with 517 points, and the boys finished 25th with 569 points. Jenna Stanbrough, Abigail Chiroy, Joslyn Barton and Cindy Meinholdt all ran their best two-mile times. Stanbrough led the Spartans with a time of 12 minutes, 3 seconds and a 19th-place finish. Chiroy finished 89th with a time of 13:08, Barton placed 127th with a time of 13:39 and Meinholdt was 147th, clocking a 13:57. Also competing for the EHS girls was Abbey Davies, who finished 155th with a time of 14:04.
