So...instead of having a State-run auction where all the money goes to pay the back-taxes, they are going to have a liquidation sale and have to pay more sales tax on all the sales, pay the auctioneer a cut, and then use the left-over profit to pay the sales tax the already owe? The only reason they're doing it this way is so they can keep the prices outrageously high.
If you really want a bargain, I say don't go to this thing and then let the state seize the property (again) and have a REAL auction where the prices aren't fixed at where the owners want them to be.

I smellarat.
25% off other merchandise? The markup on all that stuff was already way, way up to begin with. Huge markups. I always wondered how the heck that place ever made it in a small town like Emporia with Aspen prices.
June Cleaver's didn't do that.

I totally agree, dont waste your time on this crap. My mom waited in line for 2 hours waiting to pick up my dress, and our tuxes had to be transferred to another store. I dont intend on making it more convenient for them when absolutely NOTHING was convenient for us!

I heard that Designs by Sharon Is doing tuxedos now. Has anyone went there? Its nice to have all in one store they do weddings and tuxes. She has been in business for many of years in Emporia. And I believe all taxes are paid.

Sharon has always done tuxes and she is very good at it. I used to work for her and the only tuxes that ever came in wrong were the ones I measured wrong because I was still learning. She also makes sure they are ordered and come in a few days in advance so they can be tried on and re-ordered if wrong. She is very mentally organized about making sure she gets the measurements turned in (if being measured out of town) or done (in store) in a timely fashion. She also had the lowest prices in town on them at that time (with 2 or 3 competitors) and likely still does. I have always recommended her over Madelynn's, but some people around town felt her shop was beneath them which is one way Madelynn's stayed in business even being so overpriced. The other was simply offering dresses that were otherwise unavailable. For formal dresses, by the way, I would go to The Villager.

Does anyone know if Madialinnse liquidity sale is goin' ta have any of those little suspenders they make to keep socks up? When I go for a jog my socks fall down halfway through and I hate to look ridiculous when I'm running. I think the little sock suspenders would solve my problem. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Dont spend good money on suspenders, just use rubber bands.

I'm afraid the rubber bands might be a little too upscale for a casual jog but thanks for the tip I will definitely use rubber bands when I go to the Wal-mart.

Dont go in with any expectations. Stuff that was on sale in the store for 50% months ago and never sold is now only marked down 25 % the original price. And she is also selling many personal belongings but at steep prices.
