The fall festival season is on full swing with plenty to do in the area to celebrate cooler weather and colorful leaves. Americus Days is Saturday, and St. Joseph’s School Fall Festival is Sunday.
Americus Days
SATURDAY
• 6:30 to 11 a.m. — Pancake feed and biscuits and gravy, Americus Grade School
• 6:15 a.m. — Bike ride registration, City Park
• 7 a.m. — Bike road ride, City Park
• 7:30 a.m. — 5K fun run/walk registration, City Park
• 8 a.m. and throughout day — World War II pictures with World War II veterans present, Americus Township Library
• 8:30 a.m. to noon — 5K fun run/walk; softball tournament (all day); free coffee and doughnuts; historical society display and demonstration; antique quilt and flower show; Lloyd Brown — historical pictures, City Park, City Pool Ball Field, Senior Center Building and Senior Center Building Library

• St. Joseph’s School Fall Festival, 3 p.m., St. Joseph School, Olpe. Dinner and games will begin at 3 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. Bingo begins at 6:45 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
• Faith Lutheran Church, 1348 Trail Ridge Road, 19th Annual Oktoberfest, 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Dinner will begin at 4:30 p.m.
• St. Anthony Fall Festival, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., St. Anthony Hall, Strong City, St. Anthony Altar Society in Strong City will sponsor a Chicken Noodle dinner at the annual Fall Festival. Games, crafts, and baked items will also be available.
• Alzheimer’s Walk, Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. with 2-mile walk at 2 p.m., Lyon County Fairgrounds, 12th Avenue and Industrial Road.
