BOLIVAR, MO. — In the final minutes of Emporia State’s 80-54 blowout win over Henderson State on Saturday, Tim Niles was the loudest man in the building, cheering on his teammates from the bench.
Niles had been told by coach David Moe to expect to play all 40 minutes.
What Moe and the Hornets thought might be a challenge — with their three leading scorers from last season on the bench in street clothes — turned into a clinic put on by Niles and the replacements, and the senior point guard had a lot of energy left.
“I got myself hyped up to play 40 minutes,” he said.
