BOLIVAR, MO. — Dustin Andrews came up with two steals in the final two minutes and scored Emporia State’s last eight points to lead ESU to a 80-76 win over Dallas Baptist.
Andrews hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 36.4 seconds left and also hit the game-clinching free throws.
Tim Niles led the Hornets with 23 points. Freshman guard Taylor Euler scored a career-high 18 points off the bench, and Adam Holthaus added 16 points, coming off the bench for the first time this year.
The Hornets played without senior guard Jeremiah Box, who sprained his ankle on Monday against Central Oklahoma. Lamar Wilbern played only 23 minutes and sat out most of the second half because of an injured ankle that he hurt against Bethany on Nov. 18.
