WARRENSBURG, MO. — Needing something to change the momentum, something to save Emporia State’s season, coach Bing Xu went to junior Megan Lueger in the fourth set on Thursday night.
Lueger, a starter at the beginning of the season who eventually lost her starting spot, has played sparingly throughout the year and had yet to play against Pittsburg State.
“I thought hopefully I can get in and try to make a difference and fire up the team,” Lueger said.
Trailing 6-1 and needing a win to keep the game and their season alive, Lueger had four quick kills and led the Hornets to a 10-7 lead.
