Emporia State baseball coach Bob Fornelli has announced that he has signed Chase County senior pitcher Shawn Talkington to play for the Hornets in 2011.
Talkington was named the All-Class 2A Player of the year during the 2009 season. He made first team All-State as a pitcher during his junior and sophomore seasons after being named second team All-State during his freshman season.
During his junior season for the Bulldogs, he hit .643 with four home runs and 27 RBIs. He had a 6-2 record on the mound, striking out 124 and holding a 2.37 ERA.

What a steal for ESU! I've seen Talkington throw, and I thoght for sure he'd end up at KU or KSU at least...was he scouted at the D-I level?
