Lyon County commission
The Lyon County Commission will meet at 8 a.m. Thursday at the Lyon County Courthouse, 430 Commercial St. Items on the agenda include:
• End of the month financial report from A&M Consultants.
• Robert Driewer, CEO of Newman Regional Health, will discuss increasing the number of Newman Regional Hospital board members from seven to nine.
• Tammy Vopat, Lyon County clerk, will discuss installing a phone set purchased from the Lyon County Health Department in the commission chambers.
• Chip Woods, Lyon County engineer, will discuss the motor grader assignment policy and approval for three years; will talk about attending the KSLS 2010 Salina Series in Salina; and talk about sending Jim Brull to the 2010 Saline Series in Salina.
Emporia city commission
A second amendment to the Hill’s Pet Nutrition incentive agreement will be among the items slated for consideration during the Emporia City Commission meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the commission meeting room.
Among other items on the agenda are: a bid on a $2.79 million water treatment facility improvement plan, and approving a change order to the bid, to reduce the project by $404,300; possible relinquishment of a Community Development Bloc Grant; license agreement for a sewer service line for 1101 W. South Ave.; an ordinance to rezone Lots 3 and 5 in Block 4 of the Anderson Addition, from R-3 to I-1; and an executive session for an undesignated reason.
The commission also is expected to pass a proclamation in honor of Messiah Lutheran Church volunteers who restored the city’s old Nativity scene, and a proclamation in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
