Vassar Cemetery vandalized

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating vandalism at Vassar Cemetery.

Officers responded Saturday morning to a report of criminal damage to property. According to a press release, the damage occurred during the overnight hours of Friday and Saturday.

“Deputies found between 50 and 100 headstones that had been overturned and two that were broken,” the press release stated.

Anyone with information is asked to call Osage County Crimestoppers at 1-877-OSCRIME or the Osage County Sheriff’s Offfice at (785) 828-3121.
