The Lyon County League’s top two football teams of 2009 were well-honored on the All-LCL teams.
League champion Lebo (9-1) and Madison (8-2), both State playoff participants, earned a combined 12 selections to the first team.
Madison had seven first-team picks, including unanimous selections in offensive lineman Andrew McVey and defensive back Reece Childers. Joining McVey on the first team offense was Shane Ballard at down lineman. The Bulldogs’ selections to the first-team defense included Childers, lineman Keegan Kingery, defensive end Zach Nowell and linebacker Kole Schankie. Dylan Barnard earned a first-team selection for the Bulldogs at kicker.
Lebo’s Wolves earned five first-team picks, with offensive lineman Dylan Montgomery and defensive back Brent Gould earning unanimous selections. The other Wolves who earned first-team honors were running back Cole Brockelman, defensive lineman Blake Davies and linebacker Calvin Perry.
