Emporia State’s Brittney Miller was named the MIAA Hitter of the Week, and Ting Liu was named the Specialist of the Week on Tuesday.
Miller received recognition from the conference for the first time this year on the strength of a career-high 22 kills on Saturday in a 3-0 win over Nebraska-Omaha. She averaged 4.25 kills per set and hit .368 in two ESU wins last week.
Liu was named Specialist of the Week for the fourth time this season. She had double-doubles in both matches last week and averaged 11.62 assists per set, 3.62 digs per set and 1.38 kills per set.
Liu’s big game for the week was in a 3-2 win over then-No. 4 Central Missouri. She had 54 assists to go along with 13 digs.
