Osage City eliminated

Manhattan — Returning to the Class 3A State Tournament for the first time in four seasons, the Osage City softball team had redemption on its mind. After an 18-3 regular season, the fourth-seeded Indians found themselves in a first-round matchup with fifth-seeded Silver Lake — the same team that eliminated the Indians in their 2008 Regional final.
Osage City’s dreams of revenge were derailed, however, as the Eagles (19-4) touched sophomore pitcher Carly Spicer for four runs in the sixth inning and took a 4-2 decision from the Indians (18-4) on Friday.
