Ed Van Vickle wishes he’d known then what he knows now.
When Van Vickle was helping his fiancee, LeAnn Wilson, prepare to take care of her mother at home, they found they needed a variety of equipment to aid in her mother’s long-term care.
After Wilson had purchased enough equipment to turn the home into a miniature care center, a balance of about $2,500 remained to be paid.
“That was after Medicare paid their share,” Van Vickle said.
Later, he learned that Ball-McColm Post 5 of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 1980 and 7957 had a good supply of equipment to lend, both to veterans and to the general public.
