Many Emporians, like other Americans from coast to coast, have trimmed their travel budgets and are planning more modest vacations or outings close to home.
One demographic, however, hasn’t let high fuel costs or a recession cut into their plans, according to Stan Sommers, owner of International Tours.
“We’re doing a lot of honeymooners,” said Sommers. “Those people aren’t worried, too concerned about the economy right now. We have weddings in Hawaii. Everybody’s backed off Mexico.”
