There will be plenty to do Saturday at an event to celebrate all Emporia has to offer.
Celebrate Emporia, which is being sponsored by the Emporia Chamber of Commerce, Emporia Main Street and the City of Emporia, will showcase what the community has to offer. Jessica Leeds, public relations coordinator for the Chamber, said there are going to be 60 booths and range from food to schools and everything in between.

"Come join the fun on Saturday, May 30, as Emporia Building Futures Celebrates Emporia – a community open house event – at the William L. White Civic Auditorium in downtown Emporia.
Celebrate Emporia will feature more than 50 booths from shops, recreation activities, restaurants, services and other area offerings. Attendees can also win prizes, receive free gifts, food, drinks and more.
The fun starts at 10 a.m. and goes till 3 p.m., with free hot dogs and drinks starting at 11 a.m., available while they last.
The first thousand families in attendance who want to stay in touch with Emporia Building Futures will have the opportunity to receive a free reusable shopping bag.
