Ashley Nienstedt’s life is coming together quickly and nicely.
Last weekend, she graduated from Emporia State with a degree in health and physical education. Next Saturday, she’ll get married. And sandwiched right between those two major events is her timely landing of a job — Nienstedt was announced as Emporia High’s new volleyball coach on Friday, an opportunity she didn’t see coming when it did.

Newly minted teacher now a head VB coach at a 5A school? Football and boys basketball would never go this direction. Only a seasoned experienced coach. No disrespect to Ashley but don't girls deserve the same consideration?

I take back what I posted yesterday. Highland Park just hired a head football coach with no experience. VB is an equal sport.
