Senior diver Carissa Schmitz was the only representative of the Emporia High swimming and diving team to make the cut and reach today’s second day of the Class 5A State meet at Hummer Sports Park in Topeka.
Schmitz finished 19th in Friday’s preliminaries, making the cut of 20 divers who advanced to this morning’s action. She was to make three dives in this morning’s competition, after which the field was to be cut to 16 for the finals later today.
