It was all about the environment for several Northern Heights High School students who participated in the Canon Kansas State Envirothon on May 13.
The group of students competed against 17 other teams and took third in soils, second in wildlife and third in the all-around competition.
“The Envirothon competition is a scholarship competition designed for high school students,” said Debbe Schopper, of the Lyon County Conservation District. “Five-member teams are presented with information and tested over practical and written information in the areas of soils/land use; forestry; aquatics; wildlife and current issues.”
