Grand Valley State’s hitters might take a look at Colby Killian’s stats, see the 4.75 ERA, and lick their chops before today’s World Series opener.
Killian, who will most likely start today, has gone from Emporia State’s No. 4 starter to its ace in the postseason, and he’s lived up to his new title thanks to a change in his approach.
Killian won the South Central Regional MVP, pitching six scoreless innings against Angelo State in the opener and then another five scoreless innings against Central Missouri until running into some trouble in the sixth inning against the Mules.
So what’s been the difference from the regular season?
Well, Killian’s teammates and coaches have always known he had it in him to be a shutdown pitcher.
