S&S, Shepherd family honored with national award

S&S Oil & Propane Co. of Emporia has been chosen by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the winner of the 2009 Jeffrey Butland Family-Owned Business of the Year award for Region VII, which includes Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa. Owners Jim Shepherd and Joyce Shepherd French will be recognized at 1 p.m. May 30 as part of the Celebrate Emporia Fair in W.L. White Auditorium.
