LAST WEEKEND, Ashley and I enjoyed reading the Gazette’s commemorative graduation section. The section was full of hope-filled messages from parents to their children.
Graduation marks a transition time and promises new beginnings and new opportunities. The section probably caused many readers to remember that special time in their own lives.
But in this time when graduates are being showered with messages of hope and bright futures, they also need to be prepared as they leave the safe confines of home to learn that life will not be easy. It will be full of trials, tribulations and setbacks.
Some challenges will come because of making bad decisions and others will be out of their control.
How a person responds to the difficult times will determine the type of life they will lead. Hard work and a stick-to-it attitude will help overcome hardships.
We wish all the graduates the best of luck and hope they will remember these times of hope when life’s challenges get them down.
