Board meeting
USD 252 Southern Lyon County meets for a special meeting at 7 p.m. today in the board of education office at Hartford. This is a continuation of the May 11 meeting.
The agenda includes transportation; facilities; roofing projects; school safety; negotiations; 2009-10 budget, financial reports; personnel; superintendent’s report; board member comments; adjournment.
Information session
Insight School of Kansas, part of the nation’s largest network of online high schools, will be host for an information session from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Best Western Hospitality House, 3021 W. Highway 50 for students, parents and others. Refreshments will be provided. Information also will be available online from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at http://www.insightks.net/info_sessions.asp#webinar. Insight School of Kansas, a tuition-free alternative to traditional high school, will have an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 26 in Spring Hill at 16740 W. 175th St., Olathe. Hartford city council
The City of Hartford meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall in Hartford. The agenda includes reports from mayor Roy Black and committees about City Hall roof estimates, water and sewer report (maintenance supervisor Dan Fegan); presentation of claims and warrants by city clerk Donna J. Kuhn; financial statement by treasurer Bernice Fegan; update on water system improvement project and new water tower project by Bruce Boettcher of BG Consultants; Lisa Mautz - TrustPoint Insurance; appointments for the year: city clerk, treasurer, city attorney, bank and official city newspaper; citizens presentations.
