Emporia State's regional baseball game against Nebraska-Omaha scheduled for Friday night at 7 p.m. was postponed to today because of the weather. The Hornets were to begin play in Warrensburg, Mo., today at noon.
All regional games on Saturday are pushed back one game, and the final game scheduled for Saturday will now be played on Sunday.
Friday’s inclement weather also postponed all three scheduled Emporia High athletic events:
- The Spartan doubles team of Chris Reimer and Jonathan Roman lost their first match at the State tennis tournament at Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka, then were leading their second match when play was suspended until 8 a.m. today.
- The Centennial League swim meet at EHS was called after the 100 butterfly event. It will resume on Monday at 4 p.m. Rebecca Tidwell finished third for EHS in the 200-yard individual medley, and Kathryn Scherich finished second in the 50 freestyle. EHS is second in the team race thus far.
- The Centennial League track meet at Topeka High was postponed until Monday at 3:30 p.m.
