EMGC looking for help
The Emporia Municipal Golf Course needs scorekeeping and spotting help for the Class 5A boys State golf tournament on Tuesday, May 26.
EMGC is looking for 12 individuals to be scorekeepers and four to be spotters. For more information, call EMGC at 342-7666.
Brandon Schneider basketball camps
Emporia State women’s basketball coach Brandon Schneider will host four basketball camps in June, beginning with the first session June 8 and 9 on the Emporia State campus. The camps will be for boys ages K-8 and girls ages K-12. The other camps will be held June 15-16 at Eureka High School, June 17-18 at the Burlington Recreation Center and June 22-23 at Central Grade School in Wamego.
Cost of each camp is $75. Registration for each will begin at 8:30 a.m., with each camp running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a one-hour lunch. Open tennis tourney
The 63rd annual Kansas State Open Tennis Tournament will be held from May 30 to June 3 at the T.H. Vaughan Tennis Center in Winfield. The tournament will feature 20 separate Junior division events and four Adult division events. Adult entries are due at 5 p.m. on May 28, and Junior entries are due at noon June 1. Adult play begins at 9 a.m. on May 30, and Junior play begins at 9 a.m. on June 2. Sam Ellis Classic volunteers
Organizers of the Sam Ellis Classic baseball tournament on June 5-7 are looking for volunteer assistance to help run the tournament. Help would be appreciated at the gate, in the press box, in field maintenance or at the concession stand.
