The Emporia State men’s basketball team had the 16th-best attendance nationally among Division II schools this past season.
The Hornets ranked in the top 25 in attendance for the seventh straight season, drawing an average attendance of 2,083 during their 14 home games at White Auditorium during the 2008-09 season.
Emporia State was one of just 17 D-II schools nationally to draw more than 2,000 fans per game. The Hornets drew a season-high 4,294 at their 85-75 win over Washburn on Jan. 17 and had a total of seven games over 2,000 on the year.
Emporia State was among five MIAA teams in the top 30 nationally. As a conference, the MIAA drew 266,320 fans to 156 games to lead all Division II conferences in average attendance at 1,707 fans per game.
The Hornets were 18-10 overall and 12-2 in White Auditorium last season.
