EHS 1979 class reunion
The Emporia High School class of 1979 is planning its 30-year class reunion on July 11. Organizers need to find many classmates. Retirement party
Helen Thomas and Kathy Evans will be guests of honor at a reception from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at Walnut School. Thomas will retire this month after 27 years in the profession; Evans is retiring after 33 years in the field. The reception is open to the public.
Health fair additions
The Grace United Methodist Health Fair, “Our Gift to the Community,” to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church also includes PH screening; displays from the Health Department, Komen Breast Cancer, Cancer Center of America and SOS; healthy activities recommended by the Emporia Recreation Commission; Dan’s Hands — free neck-shoulder massages; and healthy snacks. The original list of fair events was published Tuesday.
