21 Hornets make All-MIAA team

Emporia State placed 21 athletes on the All-MIAA track and field team.

The ESU men had 12 athletes make the team, the second-most in the conference. The ESU men to make the team were Dustin Andrews (high jump), Skyler Delmott (3,000-meter steeplechase), Moe Gilstrap (1,600-meter relay), Derwin Hall (400-meter relay), Josh Honeycutt (long jump, triple jump), Vincent Howze (400-meter hurdles, 1,600-meter relay), Matt Koelling (triple jump), Kenton Lonberger (100 meters, 200 meters, 400-meter relay), Alex Pyle (high jump), Josh Schuler (400-meter relay) and Sam Williams (400-meter relay, 1,600-meter relay).

The ESU women had the third-most athletes make the all-conference team with nine. The ESU women on the team included Tiffany Baum (1,600-meter relay), Deja Jackson (hammer), Jackie Jacobs (1,600-meter relay), Brooke Kent (400-meter relay, long jump), Katie Mona (1,600-meter relay, 3,000 meters, 1,500 meters), Lynnsey Nichols (400-meter relay), Connie Philips (javelin), Jaclyn Sill (400-meter relay, 1,600-meter relay, 400 meters, 200 meters) and Ranae Weaver (400-meter relay).

To be on the All-MIAA team, a student-athete had to finish in the top three in his or her event.
