Sertoma

Two longtime members of the Sertoma Club of Emporia, Paul Burris and Pete Maley, were given special recognition at the April 30 meeting — they were each given Lifetime Achievement awards, which honor members who are at least 75 years old and have been a members of the club for 20 consecutive years. Three new members, Richard Becker, Steve Weiser and Michele Kriss, were officially inducted into the club. Two other new members, Mary Ann Law and Vickie Hayes-Walworth, will be initiated later. On April 16, the club presented a check for Camp Alexander projects. The donation was from a train fundraiser held recently. The club also donated money from another train fundraiser to the Emporia Senior Center Roof Fund. The club received four awards at the regional convention held April 23-25 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
