Community supper
The Spring Mound Ridge Community Supper was held April 24 at the school house. Thirty-five people attended, including many children who, said reporter Shirley VanSickle, “enjoyed the old-fashioned merry-go-round and slippery-slide.”
For the program, Dale Putman told about his duty in Afghanistan, with computer pictures of living conditions, food prepared, people he worked with and several areas of the countryside. Putman also displayed two colorful rugs made of camel’s hair, two dolls dressed in native costume and a wooden carved box lined in red for keepsakes.
