KANSAS CITY — Emporia State's trip to Kansas City for the MIAA tournament was short-lived.
Central Missouri sent the Hornets home on Saturday with an 8-4 win in the loser's bracket.
ESU starter Ryan Anthony gave up five runs in only 1 2/3 innings, the second straight game Emporia State's starting pitcher struggled.
Kenny Burkhead hit his second home run of the tournament, Conner Crumbliss had a two-run double and Caleb Williamson hit an RBI single for the Hornets four runs.
