Spring has brought in a rash of homeless kittens to the Emporia Animal Shelter.
Judy Dieker, director of the Humane Society of the Flint Hills, said today that her daily morning check-in with shelter director Peggy Derrick revealed that food for the kittens was in short supply.
“They’re good with cat food and dog food, but kitten food they need,” Dieker said.
People who want to donate food for the kittens may take it to the shelter at 1216 Hatcher St.
