With reports of more than 6 inches of rain near Americus and water over the Kansas Turnpike, officials have made these announcements:
• Madison-Virgil school district closed today;
• North Lyon County schools, 1 hour delay with reports that Americus is isolated by flooding to the east, west and south.
• Southern Lyon County schools, 1 hour delay.
• Chase County schools, 2 hour delay.
• Kansas Turnpike, closed south of Emporia toll plaza.
