Cheerleaders
The Emporia High School Cheer Fundraiser, “Girls Night Out,” will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (May 12) at the Flint Hills Technical College, 3301 W. 18th Ave. Those attending can “stop and shop with some of the greatest home-based businesses,” stated the press release. Each business will donate a percentage of their sales to the EHS cheer program.

Medical expenses
There has been an account set up at Olpe State Bank for Donna Sleezer of Olpe. She is incurring medical expenses for cancer treatment. She and her husband have three young children. Those who would like to help the family may send a donation or drop it off at the Olpe State Bank, P.O. Box 207, 202 Westphalia St., Olpe, KS 66865. The family also asks for prayers.
Biscuits and gravy Emporia High Dance Squad members will serve homemade biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls, fruit salad and beverages at the Emporia Farmers Market kiosk on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. For more information, call Julie Wilson at (620) 767-9932.

Swap meet spaces
The American Legion Riders are holding a Swap Meet and Garage Sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 16 at Post 5, 2921 W. 12th Ave. There will be reserved sales and parking spaces for $10.
