The Biscuits and Gravy breakfast generally served by the members of the Americus Masonic Lodge on the second Saturday will be discontinued until October. There will be no breakfast served in May.

Flatland Cruisers
The Emporia Flatland Cruisers will be in Americus on July 10, by the Americus City Park, weather permitting, for a cruise night. For information, Jim Gurney at (620) 443-5806. They will also appear during the Americus Days celebration, Oct. 3.
Farmers Market
The Farmers Market will open from 5 to 7 p.m. June 5 on the west side of the city park. All vendors are welcome. For information, Kristi at (620) 443-5280.
City-wide garage sale
The annual city-wide garage sale will be June 20.
Business campaign
Local merchants will be contacted concerning the “Our Community, A More Colorful Place” project and how to become involved by displaying and planting flowers around or near their business location.
Pink tractor
Elton Jensen, Gary Watts and Cecil Cunningham have transformed an Allis Chalmers C into a pink tractor to be driven in parades, displayed at malls and various shows around the area. Its primary purpose will be that of promoting cancer awareness. The first public appearance of the tractor will be in the Strong City Rodeo Parade on June 6, with a driver to be named.
