Parents have been invited to cheer on their offspring at the 12th annual Fun Run Against Drugs at Emporia Middle School beginning after classes end on Friday. The run will be held on the fitness trail between the middle school and Emporia High School.
“You are the No. 1 reason why kids don’t use drugs or alcohol!” sponsors emphasize to the adults.
Special prizes will be given to the top 10 female runners and to the top 10 male runners in each grade. A traveling trophy will be presented to the seventh- and eighth-grade teams with the best participation.
Each student who finishes the race will receive a prize, and refreshments will be provided after the race.
Bus transportation will be provided within the city limits after the event ends. Parents need to pick up their children by 3:45 p.m.
