Hornets win 6 individual titles at MIAA outdoor championships

Emporia State’s track and field team earned six individual championships and nine runner-up spots at the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Joplin, Mo.
National triple-jump leader Josh Honeycutt defended his conference title in that event, jumping 50-4.75 to register an automatic qualifier for the national championships. Teammate Matt Koelling earned a provisional qualifier with his second-place jump of 48-9.50. Honeycutt finished second in the long jump, posting a provisional qualifier of of 23-9.
