Sam Roswurm has been named the 2009 Outstanding Junior in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Oklahoma. He is the son of Scot and Jenni Roswurm of Goldsby, Okla., the grandson of Claude and Melba Roswurm of Americus, and the great-grandson of the late Howard and Elberta Ernst of Americus and the late Bill and Hazel Roswurm of Council Grove.
Sam will have an engineering internship at Johnson Control in Norman, Okla., this summer.
Baseball, softball
The Flint Hills softball and baseball league is being dissolved. The Americus teams will be traveling to Emporia, Council Grove and Olpe with the possibility of other teams being added. T-ball games will remain the same as in the past. For information, Marcia Johnson, Tim Delcamp, Melissa Rich, Denise King and Josh Hamlin.
