NEOSHO VALLEY Quail Unlimited Chapter 238, which held an auction and raised $950 in honor of Beau Arndt. The money will be allocated to three projects — a scholarship fund at Northern Heights High School, a scholarship at ESU and The Beau Arndt Outdoor Appreciation Day.
- Lacee McKinney, Helisabet Sanchez, Yvonne Vasquez, Mercedes Bounthapanya, Tracy Garcia, Angelica Brockelman and Lacee Hanson, who donated their hair to Locks of Love.
- Sixth-grade student Bryan Sandoval, who qualified for the State Geography Bee in Abilene on April 3.
- The Flint Hills Optimists, who will hold their annual community Easter egg hunt April 11 at Jones Park. They will distribute 15,000 pieces of candy.
- Emporia State University basketball player Ida Edwards, who was placed on an All-America Team. She was named to the first team by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
- Emporia High School basketball players Taylor Euler, Greg Canales and Jacob Torres, who earned All-Centennial League honors.
